The stylish Beverly Hills Grill may be small, but its reputation is huge and well-deserved. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, and has creative brunch menus on Saturday and Sunday, it draws diners from all over metro Detroit. The menu features contemporary takes on American favorites, and the daily chalkboard specials feature seasonal foods and fresh-catch seafood. BHG classics include the jumbo lump crab cakes Benedict, the lobster-Cobb omelet, pulled chicken and mixed greens salad, and veal meatloaf with porcini mushroom sauce. The wine list is sophisticated, the service is good and the friendly bartenders have followings of their own. On the downside, you may have a wait because the restaurant doesn't take reservations. -- Sylvia Rector
