Score with a winning Opening Day look
Ladies, let’s face it, you love catching a baseball game at the ol’ ballpark, especially on Opening Day as much as the next guy. Sure, we all want to see if Brandon Inge is going to end up behind the plate or if Maggs will tear one out of the park, but most important: we want to look good doing it.

“Get your game on” at Opening Day this year with a head-to-toe look that will have everyone stopping you and asking “who are you wearing?” instead of “who’s your Tiger?” To help you suit up, MMX searched around town and provided a line-up of apparel picks that combine fashion and function for a winning opening day look.

Shirt & Jeans:
With great fitted finds, the days when you thought an oversized boxy T-shirt or your boyfriend’s jersey looked cute or hip will be long gone. Three stores famous for their jeans – Chaud Jeans (Royal Oak), Rock on Main (Northville) and Caruso, Caruso (Birmingham) also provide a one-stop shopping opportunity with their selection of baseball-inspired shirts.  If you’re a fan of the Made In Detroit line hit Chaud Jeans and pick up the T-shirt which swaps out the line’s trademark wrench for a baseball bat or visit Rock on Main which carries a blue Made in Detroit zip hoodie etched with “Detroit” across the chest.

If vintage is more your style, nothing says classic more than a hand-painted Old English D zip hoodie by Red Jacket or an orange Detroit Tigers T-shirt with intricate embroidery also found at Rock on Main. Caruso, Caruso carries shirts with the Old English D and the Made in Detroit line. One more option is to try out something from the “touch” line by actress Alyssa Milano. It’s last year’s line but select pieces can still be found at Comerica Park or at tigers.com along with other similar women’s styles by the Detroit Tigers.
Perfect-fitting jeans are the ultimate pairing for the casual Opening Day vibe.

Whether you splurge on designer styles or opt for the less expensive your bottom will be covered with the extensive selection of premium denim found at Chaud Jeans, Rock on Main and Caruso, Caruso. The more budget-conscious might consider Pitaya in Royal Oak. The store carries Miss Me, Fine Monkey & Plastic denim lines in the mid-price range and if you are looking for a steal, their denim sales are just right.

Shoes & Accessories:
We didn’t forget the shoes and accessories. After all, they DO make the outfit. A lot of times when we buy shoes, we sacrifice comfort for high-style but thanks to these stores you can have the best of both.

Lorla’s in Northville will take you back to the past with the super comfortable and super-cute KangaRoos available in five colors and with the new line arrival Zinc featuring gingham and no laces, you’ll show off a bit of your girly-girl and tomboy sides all at once.
The ultimate game-day accessory of course is the baseball cap.

We found the best bet is to be a team player and go with a classic styling embossed with the Old English D. The best selection of the traditional style with a feminine touch can be found at Comerica Park.
And, finally if you want to add one more element, go to Bella Mia in Plymouth which carries a messenger bag that is quite casual and can come in handy serving as an equipment bag for the all game-day necessities you normally throw in your purse.
