A classy place for after-work drinks and eats, Tom's Oyster Bar caters largely to Detroit's professionals. Although they are not required, the men often have tucked-in button-downs on, and the women wear anything from business casual to night-on-the-town chic. This is one of the few bars that is a good place to meet someone new, but make sure to bring mints. Tom's Oyster Bar is busiest for dinner between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the winter and later in the summer when their rooftop patio opens. --Sara Kandel
