If you can’t make it to Cuba any time soon because of some embargo thing, check out Vicente’s Cuban Cuisine.

Established in 2005 by Mr. Vicente Vaszquez, Vicente’s Cuban Cuisine is one of the only places in the metro-Detroit area that offers a turly authentic Cuban dining experience.

Chef Roberto Caceres shows that Cuban cuisine is more than just rice and beans. The menu features a large selection of seafood and vegetable tapas (appetizers) that diners can easily make into a dinner. Lots of meat dishes from steaks and lamb to seafood are available.

Cuban cuisine brings to the table influences of Spanish cuisine as well as African and native Cuban items. Traditional European flavors are hallmark to Cuban style with many dishes flavored simply with tomato, garlic, onions, saffron, peppers and white wine. Alongside these Spanish hallmarks one finds local Cuban items like fried sweet plantains, yuca and black beans.
