Slows Bar BQ in Corktown has been a hit since it opened almost three years ago. Located somewhat inconspicuously on Michigan Ave., the restaurant and bar brings the Southern barbecue flavor of “low and slow” to Detroit. Slows specializes in traditional barbecue fare although there is nothing common about the restaurant's ribs, smoked chicken, pulled pork, brisket and other dishes (including the macaroni and cheese side item). Slows also uses all of the original barbeque styles like North Carolina, Texas, and Kansas City. Everything is made in house, and all meats are smoked at Slows over apple and hickory wood.

I haven't met a single person that hasn't enjoyed Slows fare. Great BBQ that makes Detroiters proud!
