Mt. Chalet II, one of the more distinct bars in metro Detroit, replicates a ski lodge in its decor, as well as the warming comfort that comes with it. Cool woodwork, lacquered tables, original wood flooring and an above-board bar menu (fresh fish daily; thick, tender filet mignon) have generated a distinct type of relaxed, kicked-back glee for more than four decades. The crowd favors regulars and the over-30 set for lunch and happy hour during the week, but opens to the twentysomethings on weekends.
