By day, the Firewater Bar and Grill is a location where the New Center lunch crowd goes for a tuna melt or a grill salmon salad. At night the location transforms into a place where the young Chicago-steppers and dancers of metro Detroit gather on the dark brown hardwood dance floor to dance the night away. Located on the corner of Milwaukee and John R., the slogan of the establishment is 'Where Class is a requirement, not a request." No boots or gym shoes on most nights, and men must remove their hats before entering. The grill features a full bar and menu featuring meatloaf, ribs and catfish. --Lester Holmes
