Atmosphere
Slows attracts people from all walks of life -- all yearning for that smoky goodness they know they know is omnitpresent once entering the building. The inside of the venue is all wooded and blends styles of both the old Southern barbecue pit and a modern bar/restaurant located in an urban area. Lunch time is very busy from about 11 a.m until 2 p.m. and dinners are usually jam-packed as well.
Expect a wait on Friday and Saturday nights. In between the lunch and dinner rush -- when everyone goes back to work -- it kind of dies down and it’s really a great time to go. Slows believes in representing the state economy and offers a selection of Michigan wines and beers; Twenty beers are featured on tap and 10 of those are made here. Also offered is a complete wine list filled with unique finds from all over the world that pair well with smoke-infused meat. Fitting enough, there are a good variety of bourbons and whiskeys on hand, too.
