Tower Pizza

Tower Pizza has been a staple of downtown Rochester since 1965. The family-owned pizzeria uses only fresh ingredients, makes its own tomato sauce and dough, and uses its own special blend of cheeses. Perfect for sharing a pie with a group, Tower's round pizzas are generously sized. The larges are 16 inches, while the Tower XLs are 18 inches.

For first-timers, the pizzeria's third owner in its 43-year existence recommends a Tower Pizza specialty, the Cure Pizza. This Tower original features Italian sausage, banana peppers, bacon and fresh garlic.

While Tower does deliver, stop in if you're in the area. Enjoy the atmosphere and be sure to finish off your meal with a scoop of Hershey's hand-dipped ice cream, something that's unique to Tower.

But be sure to take note of its atypical hours. Monday through Saturday Tower is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then reopens from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Sunday, it's open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. An added bonus: Tower keeps the student in mind.
