Leave your diet at the door and prepare to sin. What started in Petoskey has come to the burbs and we couldn't be happier. Stroll by the window to see decadent concoctions like peanut brittle and caramel corn being whipped up fresh in the enormous copper kettle. Looking for a gift? The shelves are lined with kitschy trinkets or you can have a gift basket custom-created. The huge marble slab is the site of fudge-making and kids' birthday parties. Cappuccino chocolate chip and toasted coconut top the list of 32 flavors of homemade ice cream. And then there are the chocolates. You name it, Kilwin's dips it -- marshmallows, Rice Krispies on a stick, pretzels, Oreos, graham crackers and the mother of them all -- the Turtle Caramel Apple. At $8.95, it's a worthy investment.
