Lots of restaurants serve great desserts -- there's no question about that. And here in metro Detroit we sure love to eat them up, yum. Metromix tried to mix it up with this category by offering up a little taste of the sweet stuff in the form of tasty little cakes.

Just Baked is a cupcake shop and bakery with four locations in Southeastern Michigan. The original Just Baked location is in Livonia. They also have locations at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, in the Westgate Mall in Ann Arbor and in Royal Oak on Woodward Avenue and 14 Mile Road. They offer over 50 different flavors of gourmet, "jumbo" cupcakes including: red velvet, Fat Elvis, and cinnamon donut. In addition, we also offer several traditional, buttercream "mini" cupcakes. All cupcakes are made fresh daily.

The "What's Up Doc" carrot cake cupcake is the best seller. The "Bumpy Cake" pays homage to Detroit's beloved Sanders. The "Strawberry Delight" earned honors at www.cupcakefetish.com. Prices start at $2.50 per cupcake and $4 for a jumbo cupcake. Take a seat at the sugar-free, fat-free yogurt bar for custom-made cupcakes and sundaes. Off the main drag in Royal Oak, Pronto! has been serving up inventive dishes and delicious sweets for over 17 years. With an eclectic and extensive menu of sandwiches, pastas, pizzas and salads mixed in with Mexican and Mediterranean fare, everyone is sure to find something to satisfy their palate. Pronto! is almost three separate venues in one -- a restaurant, a bakery/pastry shop and a bar -- but all three areas serve the restaurant's full menu. During the evening, Pronto's bar caters to a gay clientele. On Tuesdays, stop in for Zip Code Tuesday, where customers living in one of nine different ZIP codes receives a 20% discount on their order. Right next door to the restaurant is Pronto!
