Home Bakery
The owners have changed over the years, but Rochester's Home Bakery has remained a deliciously unique stop for anyone with a sweet tooth for almost four decades. Family-owned from the beginning, this corner bakery specializes in cakes, large or small, simple or spectacular. A walk by the cake-filled picture window is all it takes to draw hungry passersby into this modest store. Inside, three glass display cases house rich tortes, individual pastries, brightly sprinkled cookies and other homemade treats. Staying true to its name, Home Bakery prepares its confections fresh on the premises daily. Step up to the large red counter to place your order, and don't be surprised if a member of the Moravik family boxes up the goods for you. They own the place, and at least one of them can be found at the bakery every day. Enjoy the sweets and breads on display, but be prepared to eat on the go. This bakery is standing room only. --Kelly Kozlowski
