Boulders is a neighborhood place offering the sorts of general entertainment that have turned a diverse mix of locals into regulars over the last 10 years. It's a low-key place to catch sports on TV or shoot some pool, but they pride themselves on having a little something for everybody. The atmosphere is pure tavern, with low lighting and wood-paneled booths. The menu is dominated by American fare (regulars love the calamari and the turkey reuben) with a nod toward Tex-Mex (they recommend the green chili burrito). Go at lunch or dinnertime for the family-friendly experience, but the vibe at night is all bar. They have 22 beers on tap, including imports and the occasional microbrew, and a wide range of drink specials most nights of the week. Dance to the live rock by local bands on Friday and Saturday nights, or check out open mic music on Tuesdays and karaoke on Wednesdays. --Rachel Hermesmeyer
