Party pics: Big Boi and Monica at Sound Board
With his three-years-in-the-making "Sir Lucious Left Foot:Son of Chico Dusty" album about to be delivered, Atlanta's prime minister of funk Big Boi was more than ready to serve Detroit players a healthy portion of that Southern-fried music he's been cooking up. Smoking through a hyper-kinetic set of classic OutKast joints and a spitting bars over a handful of new tracks. Big Boi delivered at Sound Board in the MotorCity Casino with his "Shine Blockas" Saturday.
Big Boi says he's "ready to get it crackin" and the new release "Sir Luscious" sounds like OutKast over the last 15 years and is "definitely funkified, full of bass -- hard-hitting beats. The lyricism is straight top-notch." Leding an entertaining hand at the CD release party was the lovely Grammy-winning singer and actress Monica... All the hosting fun was handled by WJLB’s Foolish and Channel 95.5’s Sunni; sounds provided by DJ Finger and DJ David B. Yeahhh.
