Jay-Z Operation Registration Concert, DJ Premier afterparty

It was inspiring, important and absolutely dope as Jay-Z performed a free concert Saturday night -- in conjunction with Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama -- at Cobo to encourage voter registration in Detroit. Hova, still touring strong in support of last year's "American Gangster," took the crowd through a two-hour session of rhymes with a (very good) reason during his mic master breakdown in front of his tight live band. But the party didn't stop there; for an "Encore" hip-hop heads made their way into Plan B where the legendary producer DJ Premier kept everybody shaking what their mommy gave 'em on the dancefloor. Hot ish. Whatever your party affiliate (hip-hop hurre) -- November 4 is the date to make your move. Do it.
