You want heavy metal? Harpo's has it. This concert venue on Detroit's east side opened in 1939 as a movie house with a stunning art deco style and an 80-foot vertical sign that could be seen for miles. It was converted to a nightclub in the '70s and has remained a Detroit staple for touring heavy metal and industrial acts.
