During a recent interview with WRUG radio, Michelle Williams shot down rumors that Destiny's Child will reunite at Sunday's Super Bowl, The Huffington Post reports. It's a curious thing to say when the trio have released a new single, the group's compilation album comes out today and a set list for the halftime show reunion has been floating around.
"It is rumored," Williams told WRUG. "I'm going to be in the musical Fela! I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it's not true."
One-third of the trio will definitely be performing. That would be Beyoncé, of course. Will she lip-sync through this set? Maybe, maybe not, but it's Beyoncé. She can pretty much do what she wants.
Also, will she test out some new material from her upcoming album? Fingers crossed.
UPDATE: According to Yahoo!, Williams told WRUG that the reunion is "not confirmed," which is different from "not happening." Also, according to the schedule of the Sydney Harman Hall in Washington, D.C., where Williams is currently appearing in Fela!, there's a note that says: "PLEASE NOTE: Michelle Williams will not be appearing January 31st-3rd."
There's only one way to find out. Watch the show.
