This weekend, downtown Mt. Clemens
will host the Stars & Stripes
Festival, an event that sees local and internationally renown artists, and
in some cases both, take over the east-side suburb for three days. All to honor
and support our American troops overseas.
Hair-metal heroes Skid Row and LA Guns are
scheduled to appear on Friday and Sunday respectively, while the classic 1960’s
local legend Mitch Ryder is set to play Friday and Detroit’s own alternative
rock spear-head Marshall Crenshaw is scheduled for musical duties Saturday.
With the likes of Everclear, Candlebox and
Jonny Lang also on the bill, the Stars & Stripes Festival promises to be quite a weekend.
Here are four
of the local highlights that definitely shouldn’t be missed.
