Quirky is as quirky does
Marquee stars and schlumpy character actors alike excel at committing to the sheer ridiculousness of the Coen Brothers’ often cartoonish characters. One of the latest is Brad Pitt, who swirls his hair into an excessively moussed-up pompadour as intellectually challenged gym-instructor-cum-amateur-blackmailer Chad Feldheimer in “Burn After Reading.”
Here’s a look back at the most memorably quirky Coen characters that have preceded Chad. And although we limited our search to one character (or team) per film, it’s telling that every Coen movie still found a place on the list. —Brett Buckalew, Special to Metromix
