After small parts in movies like "Curly Sue" and a stint on the short-lived sketch comedy series "The Dana Carvey Show," Carell's first big break came as a correspondent on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."
He reunited with Stewart and fellow former correspondent Stephen Colbert at this year's Emmy awards.
