Woodward Windows
Woodward Windows, a public art project on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit has entered its third phase. The project began in May 2011 with a cooperative effort from Detroit art collective Street Culture Mash and Royal Oak’s 323 East gallery. Utilizing vacant retail windows, the art project's third phase features an impressive mix of local and national contemporary artists who contribute their own styles and mediums. The project’s art gives a vibrant new feel to some long shuttered spaces. The art can be seen on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit. The third phase will be displayed for the next four months. While the art may change, Street Culture Mash and 323 East gallery plan to “to curate until occupied” and brighten a formerly dark space.
