DoubleTree by Hilton is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its signature chocolate chip cookie this summer by doing something that many people have always dreamed of doing – taking the ultimate road trip across America.
On Thursday, the Cookie CAREavan arrived at Campus Martius Park to hand out free cookies. Despite light, intermittent rain showers, the smiling CAREavan crew handed out cookie stickers that allowed the wearing to get one free cookie from the cookie truck parked across from the Campus Martius fountain. Business men and women, city workers and even a Detroit bus driver (complete with city bus and passengers) stopped for a mid-day sweet treat.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels kicked off a nationwide tour In May. From Atlanta to Austin, Miami to Minneapolis and St. Louis to Seattle, a specially designed food truck embarked on a 10-week, 10,000-mile, 50-city journey to deliver tens of thousands of smiles to people across the country through the pleasant surprise of a sweet chocolate chip cookie treat.
