1. Spend the day on Belle Isle
Belle Isle has something for just about everyone. Beach access, picnic space, the Detroit Yacht Club, Dossin Great Lakes Museum, the Nature Zoo, aquarium, Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, golfing, a children’s playscape, wetlands and more are featured on its 985 acres. Belle Isle Park is the largest island park in the U.S. and is home to the Detroit Grand Prix, which is set for May 31-June 2. It’s also the planned spot for Metallica’s Orion Music + More festival scheduled for the following weekend.
