There’s never a shortage of events showcasing the diversity and intriguing heritage of the D, but few have the sparkle and style of BravoBravo!, the annual fund-raiser for the Detroit Opera House and Michigan Opera Theatre.
For the 11th annual edition of BravoBravo!, organizers invited Michigan designers to compete for an open spot in the evening’s fashion show, a slot designer Kristine Steiner claimed with a white, feathered dress that model Aferdita showed off Friday night.
On the food and music fronts, BravoBravo! guests sampled fare from more than 40 bars and restaurants and took in the sounds of the Will Sessions Funk Big Band, R&B sensation Monica Blaire and jazzy singer Ben Sharkey. Also on hand were DJs Kevin Saunderson, John Johr, Chuck Flash, X/S, and Captn 20 (with percussionist Jarred Sykes).
