Pure Detroit at CityFest
As styles and appropriateness of T-shirts garments evolve, Pure Detroit, a Detroit mainstay, follows suit while remaining true to its roots.
“T-shirts are a staple of contemporary apparel,” says Pure Detroit Owner Shawn Santo. “T-shirts have transitioned from sports to high fashion.”
Pure Detroit sells everything from hoodies, hats, handbags and belts – evolving the styles while keeping the focus on the D.
“When we started 10 years ago, we thought that it was very fashionable to have a high-quality Detroit shirt that wasn’t a souvenir,” Santo said.
Some of the most popular shirts the Detroit-based company sells include “Detroit Soul” and the classic “Detroit” shirt.
“The City of Detroit likes to represent,” Santo says.
Don’t be surprised to see a Pure Detroit tee while travelling to London or Australia, where Santo says a large portion of online shirt sales originate. “They love all things Detroit because they love the music.”
Pure Detroit also ships a lot of tees to Denver and Los Angeles.
To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Pure Detroit, limited addition shirts, bags and other anniversary items will be released throughout the year. T-shirts average $22.
