Hundreds of women (and some men) gathered at the Crofoot in Pontiac Wednesday to show support and discuss issues which ranged from health care to gas prices with Michelle Obama, Chicago native and wife of presidential hopeful Barack Obama. Guests included Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Oakland County Commissioner Mattie Hatchett, Colleen Peters, wife of Gary Peters, Democratic candidate for U.S. 9th Congressional District and more.
Norma Huantes and her 17-year-old daughter Siritha of Waterford, say they came out Pontiac to be a part of history. "She represents the average mom," the senior Huantes says. "I lover her when I see her on TV with her family. She's definitely a role model."
