A screening of the Clint Eastwood film "Gran Torino" -- the story of Walt Kowalski, a widower, Korean War veteran and racist who catches the kid next door trying to steal his cherished 1972 Gran Torino Fastback -- was held Tuesday at the Birmingham Theater where metro Detroiters were seen both on and off screen. The 78-year-old director, who used Motown locals in the movie, including Channel 95.5's Spike from Mojo in the Morning, wrapped filming in Detroit four months ago. A pre party was held at Forte before the red carpet arrivals for the cast and crew of "Gran Torino."
