Exclusive Styles
July 2, 2008
Although Mother Nature hasn’t been cooperating yet, Comerica’s Cityfest is a T-Shirt bonanza. Dearborn-based Exclusive Styles has set up shop at the New Center area all weekend long for those looking to don some seriously cool threads while grabbing a bite to eat, checking the many musical acts or just relaxing (sans button-up and tie) over the holiday weekend.
Owner Hill Hampton says T-shirts are more popular than ever, with the laid-back and comfy clothing making its way under sports coats for a more dressed-up look or complimenting a pair of shorts for keeping cool in the heat. But, more than even before, Hill says, T-shirts are making a fashion statement by incorporating a unique message or a provocative image into its design and style.
“T-shirts are real cool now and ours are pretty affordable averaging about $25,” Hill Hampton says. “I’m actually going to head back to the store in Dearborn and make sure I bring back to CityFest many more styles, colors and brands because they’re so popular here.”
Some of the offerings at the Exclusive Styles booth include brand names such as True Religion, Frankie B. and the omnipresent Ed Hardy line. But Hampton was high on the latest digs by Tuff Gong Clothing, T-shirts and fashions created by the Italian designer Stefano Aldighieri and Rohan Marley, the son of reggae legend Bob Marley and the inspiration to the line’s look and the business’ spirit.
Accessories such as hats, watches, belts and hand bags and purses are also available.
