Opening in 1999, Stormy Records’ owner Windy Weber wanted to, “fill a void that we felt existed in a lot of Detroit record stores, so we brought in a lot of the more unusual and experimental music.” Celebrating anything and everything bizarre and off the beaten path, Stormy Records specialise in avant-jazz, “interesting” classical composers, Brazilian world music, Japanese psychedelic rock and noise. Want something that veers out of the middle of the road? This is the place for you.
