The University of Michigan Wolverine nursing student Renee Alison is definitely gonna have you do a doubletake next time you see her in her scrubs. Calling from the hospital on Friday, Sept. 12 -- the day Playboy's October issue, the Girls of the Big 10, hit newstands -- Alison says the 100 or so other students in her program were all chicken when it came to stripping down for the iconic men's magazine.

"There was an ad in the school paper for an open casting call and a friend of a friend came up to me and said I should go," the Northville resident who lives off of 8 Mile and graduates in April explains. "I didn’t take it real serious, but I was like, 'Why not?'"

The annual issue features a 10-page spread that showcases three lovely Wolverines (Alison, Bobbie Korina and Caitlin Shannon) and the student bodies of seven spectacular Spartans (Elle Stamos, Lynn Whisper, Ryan Lovette, Monica Walker, Ann Morgan, Alyse Sutton and Nicole Kennedy).

Guaranteed to raise your school spirit but probably not your grades, the Girls of the Big 10 Playboy issue also reveals 38 other beauties going to school right here in the Midwest.

Renee, you're in the new issue of Playboy. Have you done any modeling or anything like this before?
I have done a lil bit of modeling here and there, and I have always been into cars so I’ve done some modeling at cars shows, but modeling just for fun. Nothing like this.

What was the shoot like? Did you fly out anywhere? Or did you have to hang out with Ohio State girls or anything?
Everything local, it was me and two other U-M girls. I did hear that some of the MSU girls were talking some crap about us.

What?!? Michigan State talking trash about you?
When we were at our shoot one of the girls on the shoot told us that the State girls were talking about crap and that Playboy wasn't going to be able to find any hot girls at Michigan...which all goes back to the rivalry.

Well, why don't you tell us why Michigan girls are better than the rest...
Because we have the brains and the beauty. We’re not bimbos; we don’t mess around.

Are you a big sports fan?
I'm a little bit more of a hockey fan over football but I am a huge Wolverines fan.

So what's all this about the cars? Your photo caption goes on about that...
I’m such a gearhead; anything with an engine...even my hairdryer. I picked it up 'cause there is like a window and you can see the gears turning and stuff. Anything that has a motor I am really excited about.

I started showing cars when I was like 14, 15 years old. I can change my own oil – I don’t mind getting dirty.

Nice! What did your family think about you doing Playboy?
They’re actually very supportive. I told my dad on his birthday, poor guy. I left a message on his phone and he called me back and he said he was so proud of me, it was going to be so much fun, and what an adventure it would be. He told everyone he knows – he was so excited.

Was it hard for you to take off your clothes for the shoot? Nervous or anything?
Oh no. I have always been like one of the boys, so I have always been very comfortable, whatever. Even during my shoot they said we’re gonna take five -- and you can cover up. And I was like, 'Why? I have been sitting here naked for an hour and a half, it’s no big deal.'"

What about Ann Arbor? Any places you really like to hang out at?
Well, I am a bartender at the Blue Leprechaun, and we're partners with the Brown Jug, so I usually just hang out at my own territory.

What's a specialty drink of yours? Come on, I know you have one...
There’s a drink that I make that gets girls really drunk. It tastes really good but it has a terrible name. We need to come up with something better but it's called Cherry Punch and it's made with cherry vodka, triple sec, orange juice, cranberry juice and grenadine. We love it – it kinda tastes like Starburst.

But really I am a beer girl. Real women drink beer.

Renee and the wonderful Wolverine women will wow you and sign Playboys Thursday, Sept. 18 at A2’s Campus Corner (818 S. State St.) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and then will hang at Rick’s Ann Arbor (611 Church St.) from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
