Playboy’s Girls of the Big 10: MSU’s Elle Stamos

College is nothing if not a good time; a time to find yourself, try new things and evolve (oh yeah, and graduate). For the senior Michigan State Spartan Elle Stamos, who is wrapping up her business degree, the open casting call that touched down at East Lansing posed the opportunity of a lifetime for the Flint-area native. “I did something for a local swimsuit calendar a couple summers ago that college kids put together, but that was nothing to this degree.”

The October edition of Playboy, which hit stands on Friday, Sept. 12, features a 10-page spread that showcases the student bodies of seven spectacular Spartans (Elle Stamos, Lynn Whisper, Ryan Lovette, Monica Walker, Ann Morgan, Alyse Sutton and Nicole Kennedy) and three lovely Wolverines (Renee Alison, Bobbie Korina and Caitlin Shannon).

Guaranteed to raise your school spirit but probably not your grades, the Girls of the Big 10 Playboy issue also reveals 38 other beauties going to school right here in the Midwest.

So Elle, how did u get involved with taking it off for Playboy?
One of my girlfriends told me about it. She wanted to do it and at first she kind of dragged me along, but then I was like, “Ok, I’ll do it.” Then I got the call back asking if I would be willing to do another shoot and agreed and was very excited about it.

I am sure your parents must be thrilled. What do they think?
They’re very excited. The first time I called my mom about it she was definitely really excited. They know I have a good head on my shoulders and trust me to make good decisions and they support me with the decisions I make.

Besides the actual taking off your clothes in front of strangers, there’s going to be a lot of people who see this -- on campus and all around the world. Were you nervous?
Well, of course I was pretty nervous at first – the whole idea of being nude in front of people I had only known for a few minutes. But after about five minutes during the photo I felt really comfortable. It was really professional and it was a great experience all around.

Now that the issue is out there, do you think guys will look at you differently?
I don’t think so -- all my guy friends have been really excited and supportive once I told them. They all want me to sign copies for them (laughs).

Are you interested in pursuing a career in modeling?
It’s actually not something I have really thought about. My number one priority is finishing school and pursuing my career after that, but if other opportunities did come up I would have to think about that.

It’s pretty amazing that you are now part of Playboy history and you get to rep the Spartans while doing it…
It’s all just kind of hitting me now – now that it is out there in circulation. I am very honored to now be in the ranks of some of the most beautiful women in the world that have graced the pages of Playboy throughout the years and to be even considered in that same class in an honor.

Alright, Metromix needs to know a little bit more about you. Tell us about the music you listen to.
I love country, I love rap – I know, different extremes. Yes, I love Kid Rock. I just saw him on the (MTV) VMAs. I have mixed about the host of the show Russell Brand, he’s out there, but I did like “Forgetting Sarah Marhsall.” It was a good movie, but I don’t know about his character.

And you’re a senior at Michigan State… Pretty fun, huh? What are some of your favorite spots to hang out at State?
I love going to Rick’s – where the release party will be on Wednesday; I’m excited about that. During the summer I like to go to the (Lansing) Lug Nuts games. I also love going to Lake Lansing beach area -- if you can consider it a beach (laughs). But all the bars around campus like Harper’s…Peanut Barrel has awesome Long Islands; if you haven’t had one of those I highly recommend trying one.

Do you check out the Spartan football games? I was just up there tailgating for the home opener and it was quite the scene.
I’m actually tailgating this weekend (for the Florida Atlantic game). My parents are coming down for the first time this weekend and I want them to experience the whole thing with me and my friends.

Elle and the sexy Spartans from Michigan State will sign their Playboy magazines Wednesday, Sept. 17 at East Lansing’s Big Ten East (1108 E. Grand River) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. before shifting to party mode at Rick’s (224 Abbott Rd.) from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Playboy's Girls of the Big 10 issue is now on newsstands.
