Metromix your weekend
Invincible hits the Alvin's stage tonight for her "ShapeShifters" release party.

A pre-Movement weekend has me looking ahead (that Kanye West show next Thursday is exciting and I have been drinking my Vitamin Water to prepare for the non-stop Memorial Day weekend party), but just ‘cause I'm thinking ahead doesn’t mean this weekend isn’t poppin’. All sorts of club action is on tap for the night-crawlers and there’s a sweet lil super-hero convention that I broke out my Spider-Man Underoos for. Evil-doers be gone!

Saturday, May 17

Eden
What: The one-year anniversary party for the fantastic indoor garden of Eden, featuring DJ Godfather, DJ Pannos with Jared Sykes, and complimentary Grey Goose ‘til 11 p.m. only, lushes.
Why: Pretty people, free Goose, and the multiple beds in case you ready for a nappy.
Lie your head down here.

DirtyFilthySexy
What:
The two-year anniversary of the successful promotional night with Anthony Attalla on the decks.
Why: Not sure if you ever met Lena, but it’s her birthday and you should wish her well with a B-day shot.
Blow out Lena’s birthday candles here.

Invincible CD release party for “ShapeShifters”
What:
A part of the new school of Motor City hip-hop, Invincible shatters rap stereotypes with her strong storytelling wordplay and natural raw talent. Finale and Buff1 also on the bill.
Why: Detroit hip-hop is life.
Pop that “Shotgun” here.

Royal Oak Wine stroll
What: Fine wines and hors d’oeuvres from such Royal Oak staples as the Inn Place, Mr. B’s, Andiamo, Rock on Third, Sangria, Oxford Inn, Pronto!, Oak City Grille and O’tooles.
Why: Dine and wine during the day, nothing better.
Pop a cork here.

Sunday, May 18

Motor City Comic Con
What: Only one of the largest pop culture and comic book conventions in the world. This is the third day of the three-day event.
Why: Cuz I'm going to be wearing my Spidey Underoos to the event.
Knockout the bad guys here.

Crave the Sunset
What: One of the best party series of the summer is kicking off, and it’s Halloween in Dearborn.
Why: Sunday night fun never looks this good…
Dress up right here.

Stay tuned to “Metromix Your Weekend” for two special editions next week: A Movement special and a regular around town edition. Double your pleasure and send party and event info to bjhammerstein@metromix.com
