Downstairs at the Garden Bowl, they've been racking up pins and knocking 'em right back down for longer than anywhere else in the country (since 1913, to be exact). Upstairs at the Magic Stick, Detroiters have been slugging from cans of PBR and playing pool to the sounds of gritty Detroit rock (and, occasionally, hip-hop) since long before the rest of the world caught on. Go to a show one last time, order a can of brew, listen to the music, and stand perfectly still the entire time — it’s the Detroit way.
