“Party in the city where the heat is on, all night on the beach till the break of dawn…Welcome to Miami.”

Okay, so we’re not exactly Miami or Saint Tropez, we’re Michigan -- but eventually the warm temperatures will actually stick and you know what that means, it’s time to break out those pasty pieces we all call a body and put on bathing suit.

No need to worry though because Metromix has you covered (or not covered depending how you like to hit the beaches) on how to get bikini ready.

Everything But Water:
This swimwear source has plenty of popular designer water-wear including: Becca, Betsey Johnson, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Trina Turk, Roxy, Lucky, Vix, La Blanca and Karla Colletto, just to name a few. Most are sold as separates -- except for the one pieces of course -- all from $40-$200 plus. The big trends this year seem to be bright colors, whites, metallics and mod patterns, management says. Besides bathing suits -- hats, bags, sunglasses, flip-flops, wraps and products to care for your swimwear can also be bought.

Spa Julianna:
Getting bikini ready also means hair removal, which can be done at Spa Julianna by either body waxing or a more permanent hair reduction: laser removal. A ‘no pain’ laser machine will get rid of un-wanted hairs or the Nu’ free body waxing, which heats to body temperature, can be done in the private room setting starting at $20 (depending on the body part and style of the procedure). Guys, you’re not off the hook either because this spa also does ‘manzillians.’ Exfoliations, sunless tanning, body treatments, after-care products and firming serums are also available.

Planet Fitness:
Before throwing on a swimsuit, you might want to get that bod’ in shape and Planet Fitness can help. The ‘judgment free zone’ fitness facility specializes in cardio and equipment training. A 30-minute circuit training workout in the 15,000 square-foot facility -- filled with more than 90 pieces of equipment -- will get almost anyone bikini-buff at just a mere $10 a month. Black-card members can also score massages and tanning, too, for $19.99 a month.

Macy’s at Twelve Oaks:
Macy’s is department store, bikini-wear ready with hundreds of brands -- Jantzen, Rampage, Raisins, Roxy, Radio Fiji, O’Neil, Hula Heney, Lucky, Penguin, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Nautica -- mostly all at affordable prices. Separates go for $19.98 and move up to a little bit pricier at $73, but suits seem to be on sale regularly.

JR’s Tanning and Surfwear:
If fake and bake is more your thing to getting swimsuit ready, JR’s Tanning and Surfwear in Livonia has more than 20 years in the biz of offering it, now with Sundazzler, Hex Wolf and Tribute stand-ups; and Tan America, Mega Sun Platinum, Sontegra and Oviation beds along with counter top face units to tint just your mug. Appointments are both call-ahead and walk-in options, seven days a week, for a $7 visit or through a monthly package. VIP, lifetime or student membership prices are available. The tanning shop is also equipped with swimwear all from the Made in Detroit, Bebe and Playboy labels, along with body-piercing jewelry.
