Grab some hometown fare (a six-pack of Vernors Ginger Ale or Ghettoblaster beer, a bag of Better Made chips and some Slows Bar BQ take-out or a Lafayette Coney dog) and head to the Isle for a send-off picnic. There are plenty of tree-shaded tables and benches with views ranging from the Detroit River and skyline to one of the Isle’s many ponds. Or there’s always the “head into the woods and see what happens” option — you never know who, or what, you’ll find back there. Oh Detroit … you know you’ll miss it!
