As college students return to campuses across the state, Metromix posed the question: How many plan to stay home here after they graduate?

While many students spent their summer vacations traveling abroad or gaining experience through a challenging internship or summer job, several major challenges continue to face Detroit and the State of Michigan.

In addition to the Detroit mayoral corruption scandal, which has become international news, tied-up city business has put much of the city’s development on hold, the Big 3 automakers continue to struggle as the economy continues to decline and many other businesses and industries within the state have decided to open up shop elsewhere.

Are the next generation of professionals willing to stay home and bring Detroit back to prominence or are they ready to flee as soon as they receive their degrees?

Metromix had an opportunity to talk to several Wayne State students about their desire to stay in the Motor City.
