Party pics: Grand opening of Friday nights at Club 54
The space now known as Club 54 was closed for two years before the current owner purchased the 6,000 square-foot building in Sterling Heights last November. General Manager Maria Tokar, who has owned four bars in the past, including a Club 54 on Hall Road in Clinton Township, has been offering a variety of entertainment for the last year. Thursdays, guests can enjoy a Polish food menu in addition to traditional bar fare while they are entertained by an 18-piece orchestra. On Saturdays, a 35-and-up crowd floods the club as Tokar hosts a dating-site party. Friday, some local promoters launched a new weekly night that features a younger crowd and DJs. This past Friday kicked off the venue's Friday Night Live party series featuring music by DJ Chrome, DJ Maz and Detroit-area percussionist Tone.
