Party pics: Girls Gone Vinyl at Flat 151
Girls Gone Vinyl hosted its 6th annual Movement Electronic Music Festival event with an 8-hour after party at Flat 151. The evening’s lineup featured female artists from all over the globe. Berlin, Germany-based DJ Camea headlined the show with Psycho Bitch (Chicago), DJ Stacy “HOTWAXX” Hale (Detroit), Nyrma & Sofisticated (Montreal), Gabi (Detroit), Modesty (Los Angeles) and Swack (Montreal).
The Detroit-based “Girls Gone Vinyl” started as party series designed to highlight some of the best female electronic artists. The organization has since moved into multimedia opportunities and has filmed a “Girls Gone Vinyl” documentary chronicling the challenges facing female DJs in a male-dominated filed. The documentary is in post-production and will be released in 2103.
