Party pics: Vain's grand opening

With the demise of Bleu, the Woodward and Pure, the nightlife scene on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit has seen better days, but on Saturday, Vain Ultra Lounge breathed some new life to an old venue. Formerly Pure Nightclub, which closed last year after a nearly 10-year run (and a couple name changes), Vain's classical Victorian interior was packed from wall to wall as DJ AD Cruz of Miami performed a set supplemented by a live percussion and guitar.
