Party pics: Karma Sutra Friday’s 1-year anniversary

With basketball fever in the air, the National Basketball Association teamed up with the creators of Karma Sutra Fridays to put on a charity event at Andiamo’s Champion’s Club (formerly Asian Village).

“It’s a fundraiser for a nonprofit called Team Detroit,” said Chuck Wells, celebrated the one-year anniversary of Karma Sutra Fridays, which was once held at the now defunct Asian Village. The weekly event has also been held at Seldom Blues and South Beach.

Team Detroit is a nearly 20-year-old nonprofit basketball organization that provides opportunities for inner-city youth to play the game while learning from some of the best coaches in the area.
