With basketball fever in the air, the National Basketball Association teamed up with the creators of Karma Sutra Fridays to put on a charity event at Andiamo’s Champion’s Club (formerly Asian Village).
“It’s a fund-raiser for a nonprofit called Team Detroit,” said Chuck Wells, on the one-year anniversary of Karma Sutra Fridays, which was once held at the now defunct Asian Village and returned for a special Final 4 affair Friday.
The weekly event has also been held at Seldom Blues and South Beach.
Team Detroit is a nearly 20-year-old nonprofit basketball organization that provides opportunities for inner-city youth to play the game while learning from some of the best coaches in the area.
