Whether it's before a big show, a place to chill after dinner or just because you love booze and people, there are all sorts of choices when it comes to getting your drink on in the D. The ever-devoted Metromix staff picked our favorite local hangouts, now it's your turn to vote for the best. If you think we left out a deserving nominee, let us hear about it!

Gusoline Alley - or Gus' as the locals refer to it - is a no-frills beer and a shot bar. The bar draws an eclectic crowd from bikers to rockers to the occasional hipsters and was recently named one of the best places in the country by Maxim Magazine. Gus' serves up daily drink specials and features 100 beers from all over the world but no food is served. Those who want to hear music, better put another coin in their famous jukebox, baby.
Bronx Bar

Detroit, MI 48201It is possible to wander in, take a seat at the bar next to your best friend and never, ever know you're sitting next to him. That's how dark it is inside the Bronx Bar. The crowd's older in the daytime, younger and way hipper at night.
The Town Pump Tavern

The Town Pump Tavern is just steps away from Detroit's entertainment and theater district. It offers an extensive beer list with more than 18 beers on tap and a full kitchen. With its wood-paneled walls and rock-and-roll jukebox style, the Town Pump Tavern holds true to the classic pub atmosphere. Food is served until 11 p.m., but the drinks go all night long.
Northern Lights Lounge

Northern Lights is one of the few locations for up and coming musicians of various music genres to show their talents. It has a full-service bar and a solid reputation in the metro community for packing a punch with martinis and shots. For those who like beer, more than a dozen brands are available.
