Status: Moose’s Martini Pub, owned by brothers Hisam and Chad Elawad, does not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all attitude.

The Dearborn pub is just a bar that offers everything you need in a bar – adequate seating, flat screen TVs, a full bar, friendly staff and food. It does not attempt to masquerade as a bar and grill or a club or a sports bar, and that policy seems to be working since the Michigan Avenue venue celebrated its first birthday in July.

Perhaps customer Mark Quinley described it best when he said, “It’s a bar -- a chill spot.”

Gear: Moose’s sports a come-as-you-are dress code.

Mood: The attractive exterior of Moose’s Martini Pub on Michigan Avenue embodies what you’ll find when you enter the bar. The contemporary brick façade showcases the traditional décor you get with the slate floor tiles and stone fireplace inside the bar. One wall offers floor-to-ceiling windows making Moose’s a great spot for people watching on Michigan Avenue.

“It’s a good atmosphere and good crowd,” says Rhianna Kelly who sat at the glossy L-shaped wood bar with her friend Ashley Fleming.

Pick me up: We’d be remiss if we neglected to mention the martini menu made up of more than nearly two dozen drinks like the Funky Monkey (vodka, Kahlua, crème de banana and cream) and the Yellow Brick Road (orange vodka, apricot brandy, bourbon and orange juice).

Moose’s also offers nightly drink specials including buy-one, get-one mixed drinks on Mondays, $2 bottles of beer on Tuesdays and $3 Three Olive mixed drinks on Wednesdays.

The food menu contains your typical bar-fried favorites like fries, chicken tenders, wings, mozzarella sticks and cheese and pepperoni-filled bread. There are also soft pretzels and personal pizzas. Most menu items are under $7.

Entertainment: There are about a half dozen flat screen television and an open outdoor patio.
