Status:  Ignite blazes the 2^nd floor of the MGM Grand Detroit with fire and ice. This sushi bar and lounge shared the 2007 debut with MGM Grand Detroit casino and is a subsidiary company of MGM Mirage.

Gear: Sex it up in club gear or go athletic -- whatever makes you happy.

Mood: Ignite arouses senses with unique atmospherics like a “living wall” of fire which divides the lounge and dance areas and sparks inspiration for dancers and conversers alike. 

Dim light compliments the flames and creates a cozy, stylish setting.

Modish seating and tables line the lounge walls and invite you to rest your bum. Both the lounge and dance area have elevated VIP sections that offer prime location and retreat while windows lining the dance floor grant great views of the city. 

Feeling super sophisticated? Enjoy premium Rocky Patel cigars and bourbon created for MGM in a separate, lush cigar room. 

Pick me up: Extinguish your hunger at the sushi bar or order table-side tapas that are available all night. Wash it down with a signature martini or drink-of-choice from the top selection of whiskeys, scotches and cognacs.

Curtis Swift ditches the martini for his favorite concoction.

“Amaretto sour. Hmmm. This is a classic,” he says. “Amaretto plus sour mix is just a perfect combo like Club V and Ignite.”

Entertainment: Engage in the Ultimate Ballroom Experience with Frankie Darcell & Mr. Smooth on Thursdays and learn how to dance from 6-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday dance to a different beat as DJ Joey A and DJ Earl Mixin McKinney spins a combination of old school and current top 40 hits.
