Status:  What do you do when you realize you own a bar that has the reputation as one of the best neighborhood hangouts? You open another one.

In the capable hands of operational managers Chris and Joe, the new CJ Mahoney’s is well on its way to making its own mark on the scene in Troy, just as it’s predecessor did in Rochester Hills.

Management says the mixture of twenty-somethings and up-and-coming business professionals in the area made this prime piece of real estate the perfect place to set up shop. Not straying far from the strategies that have made the original location on Rochester Road such a success, their goal was to continue to deliver good food and great drink prices in a fun-loving atmosphere.

Mood: Thanks to a welcoming atmosphere and exceptional drink specials, CJ Mahoney’s has made a name for itself as a consistent place for fun (and even a fling).

Giving off that “everybody knows your name” attitude, CJ’s multitude of regulars attest that their “Cheers” is certainly a first-rate place to enjoy any day or night.

Over 30 flat screen and projection TVs make game day an electrifying experience. Enjoy your very own front row seat as you cheer and jeer with the crowd of other anxious observers.

If you prefer to dine in a more docile environment, you can choose to pull up a seat at one of the outdoor patio tables among the greener scenery.

Gear: Depending on the day of the week or the time of day, you can usually find a good mix of men rocking their favorite team jerseys, next to chicks in jeans and cute tops.

There's no official dress code is in place, and with the exception of dressing to the nines, you can pretty much pull anything off.

Pick me up: Serving up all your favorite finger foods like chicken wings, cheese sticks, and potato skins, CJ’s extensive menu also offers choice selections like chicken breast Monterey ($9.49), flame-broiled pork chops ($10.49) and noteworthy M.V.P.izza’s.

Food and drink specials change up daily but usually include some variety of $2.25 bottled beers and $2.75 large drafts.

In addition to the list of daily drink and beer specials, you can tee-off early Monday through Friday at happy hour from 2-6 p.m. and take advantage of $1 off all drinks (with the exception of specials of course).

Entertainment: Grab a bite, get the score or hit the dance floor; whatever your pleasure, CJ Mahoney’s has got the goods.

Swing in and do-se-do on country night every Wednesday or enjoy all your favorite top 40 tracks every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

If you prefer more hands on action, check out the extraordinary gaming area that boasts video games like Buck Hunter and Golden Tee, pool tables, dartboards, basketball and more.
