For $20 there's an open bar from 8-11 p.m. and a ton of fun
Labor Day is almost upon us, and while there’s plenty to do during this holiday weekend, it’s the tried-and-true events whose titles often contain a day of the week that get the nod this week. Check out one of these Thursday night party series to guide you through to the three-day weekend.

Bring Your Own Mug Night
There’s no cute abbreviation like BYOB, but while guzzling down several $1.99 Labatt Lights during Bring Your Own Mug Night at O’Tooles in Royal Oak, you’re sure to come up with something witty.
Every Thursday, O’Tooles encourages patrons to bring a mug (up to 52 oz. with a handle and no spout) to take advantage of the bargain-basement priced beer. The weekly event, which has been ongoing for the last six months, also features a DJ who is yet to be determined thanks to regular Thursday night DJ Jag’s recent return to the army, says Manager Joe Patel.

Stimulus Thursdays
Stimulus these days seem to come in the form of clunkers, refrigerators and (if you’re lucky) checks, but the Bosco offers a different (though no less important) form of encouragement with it weekly Stimulus Thursdays party series.
“It’s been going on for about six months and is a big hit,” says Bosco co-owner Dan Haberman.
Thursday night DJ Nedim Kunic dishes out electro house grooves as bartenders serve up $2 drink specials from 8-10 p.m.

Garden Party Thursdays
Time’s running out to be a part of the 89X garden parties as this Thursday marks the last day of the series which began June 4, says Nicole DeSalvio, the Whitney’s director of sales and marketing.
“These events have been a staple on the Detroit music scene for 20 years and many renowned bands have played in our Gardens like the White Stripes.”
Over the last few months, 89X’s Lisa Way and Chuck the Freak have hosted the open-air event with performances by bands like Mic Lordz, Sauce Funky, the Fake Take, Matt Dalton, Madison Opera, Roberts in the Garden, Maceri and Cody Stagefright.
Drink specials, food and 89X prizes will be available.

College Night at the Hayloft
This Mt. Clemens retreat has been responsible for Friday morning hangovers with its weekly college night for the last 10 month.
In April, VH-1 reality star Daisy De La Hoya was the first celebrity guest to host college night where hot body contests aren’t the exception but the rule. Dollar drinks are available from 9-11 p.m.
You'll have to wait a week for the club's next Wet and Wild Foam Party, which will be Sept. 10, says Jerrianna Raymus, Hayloft general manager. “We have had two over the course of the summer, and they are a blast.”

Dirty Bingo
There's nothing like some good ‘ol fashioned B-I-N-G-O to carry you through the end of the week – if you’re below the age of 10. At Via Nove, Dirty Bingo is a “steamy take on the traditional game (that) would make your grandmother blush,” says promoter Naomi Pelkey.
For $10, you can play each round with two Bingo sheets throughout the night. For $15, you double your chances of winning with four sheets. Prizes, which are won after yelling out provocative words in place of the traditional Bingo, are provided by sponsors like Sex Appeal Magazine, Sex Drive energy drink, Body Kandi, Roderick Therapeutic Massages and Pure Romance.
