Think of the stupidest costume you possibly can wear and mix it together with unique bands, plenty of booze and a performance by Detroit’s own the Von Bondies and you’ve got one hell of a Halloween treat. “We’re encouraging god-awful costumes. It’s easy,” says Alix Lemus, promotions manager of the Crofoot. “The most eccentric, weird, eclectic, indie thing you can find so Wolfman Mac will award you for the dumbest costume.” All rooms will be open with devilish treats, including the Takeover UK, the Shys and Army/Navy. The Pike room musicians will pay homage to their favorites, like Prussia performing as the Smiths, Javelins as the Strokes, Wildcatting as T. Rex and a special late-night guest. In the Vernors room checkout The Pop Project, Phonotopic, Gad Kassian and free candy, or head-on the Crofoot Café where legend Handsome Sam will spin. Sounds from DJ’s Mikel O.D., Tom Matich and Jeff Milo will happen on the patio, while $3 beers, $2 specialty drinks and $1 well drinks from 9-10 p.m., also go on. Tickets are frightenly cheap, too, at just $5.
