VIP’s the way to go if you plan to get down at South Beach on Halloween. The who’s who will get their own haunted section of the ultra lounge complete with their own DJ and private bar. “This VIP section will be so great that you will have upscale nightmares leading up to this party and after,” says promoter Chuck Wells, who’s working with promoters Stephen Hendrix, Larnell Collier, and for the first time, Ern Foutner and Shaina Ortiz. For those who prefer to mingle with the masses, Sunshyne, the first lady of Karma Sutra Friday, will keep you company as she hosts this costumed celebration. If you’re not wearing a costume, you’d better not be wearing sneakers, hooded sweatshirts, Timberland boots, white t-shirts, jerseys, hats or excessively baggy clothing either – you’ll be frighteningly out of luck.
South Beach, 3011 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit, 313-556-9993. Free before 11 p.m.
