This visually impressive museum explores African American culture and history through exhibits, film, programs and lectures. Founded in 1965, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History contains seven exhibition areas and over 30,000 artifacts and archival materials, making it the nation's largest museum dedicated to African American history. The museum's core exhibit, the interactive "And Still We Rise: Our Journey Through African American History and Culture," continues to be a moving and inspirational tribute to the struggles and triumphs of African Americans throughout history.
