Downtown Detroit has secured its place as the sports, entertainment and cultural hub of southeastern Michigan. From a variety of theatres and music venues (Fox Theatre, St. Andrew's Hall, Riverfront Theatres, City Theatre, Masonic Temple, The Fillmore) to sporting arenas (Ford Field, Joe Louis Arena and Comerica Park), downtown Detroit offers up an opportunity for an eclectic night out. Just about any variety of cuisine can be found-- American, Thai, Mexican, Greek-- with restaurants to fit just about any budget. Nightlife is bustling as trendy bars and clubs reveal the city's chic side and annual events like Movement, Cityfest (formerly Tastefest) and Winter Blast unite the diverse community. --Andrea K.
